Maritza Lynch
Advisory Board
Maritza's choral music expertise started before she came to the USA. She graduated from the National Conservatory of Music in Lima, Peru in Music Education in Choral Conducting emphasis. She was a guest in the Staufener Musikwoche in 2000 in the Conducting and Voice Ensemble classes directed by Prof Wolfgang Schafter in Staufen Germany and an active participant in many workshops led by Prof Werner Pfaff. Throughout her musical journey in the choral world, she was the founder and Conductor of the Peruvian Chinese Choir in Lima, and the assistant conductor of the Peruvian Children’s Choir. Maritza moved from Lima to Denver in 2004 and started working in Denver Public Schools teaching elementary music, band, and choir at Academia Ana Marie Sandoval. A graduate of Regis University in Denver, she received her Master of Arts in education with an endorsement in bilingual education. Working with Colorado Children’s Chorale, she founded and conducted the ensemble “Aplausos” for eleven years. These great experiences gave her an understanding of the history, beauty, and diverse background of our Denver community. As a former Denver Children’s Choir Summit Singers conductor, she is familiar with the organization’s values and vision. Maritza lives in Denver with her husband and 12-year-old son James who loves film production and is an active member of Dunstan Choir.
