Commitment Agreement

Welcome to the 2025-2026 Season of the Denver Children’s Choir! We are very excited about our upcoming season as the DCC is celebrating its 30th Anniversary! The Fourteeners and Mountain Aires (known collectively as “Thin Air”) are part of of the DCC’s Premiere Ensembles program. Please read and agree to the commitments listed below. In the comments/conflicts section, please list any foreseeable conflicts with rehearsals, retreat, or performances, along with sporting activities, theater or musical commitments that might arise, vacations, and any school conflicts. Please complete this form by July 10, 2025. Registration will be open in mid-July. We look forward to singing with you!

IN ORDER TO ACCEPT YOUR SPOT IN FOURTEENERS OR MOUNTAIN AIRES FOR 2025-2026, BOTH SINGERS AND PARENTS AGREE TO:

Fourteeners and Mountain Aires will receive email updates from Travis ([email protected]). Please be sure to check for those updates regularly and, when necessary, respond quickly. SMS text messages will also be sent – be sure you are opted in to receive these timely updates.

Keep up to date with our calendar by going to our website at denverchildrenschoir.org, On the top drop-down menu, choose CHOIR, MY DCC, ALL CHOIR CALENDAR, filter for your choir, and subscribe. Updates will go directly to your phone and computer.

1. Formal – BLACK AND WHITE – attire of your choosing should include white and black – please represent both colors. The white should be true white (no cream or ivory!). Be creative with your selections. Nice pants, shirts, dresses, skirts, blouses, vests, jackets – just be sure your outfit is dressy! We do not want a casual outfit for formal performances. Shoes should be black, white or silver and should be comfortable for standing, walking, and any choreography!


Please review these additional dress guidelines:
• You should be comfortable moving on stage and doing choreography in your outfit and shoes.
• Dresses and tops should have sleeves or straps that are at least 2 inches wide (no strapless dresses or dresses with spaghetti straps).
• Dresses or skirts MUST be no more than 4 inches above the knee.
• Material should not be see-through in any way – no undergarments should be seen. No midriffs showing.

2. Casual – DCC T-shirt, DCC Sweatshirt, and colorful Converse Chuck Taylor style sneakers. This look will be worn from time to time with nice dark blue jeans (no holes) – and at times with nice black pants or capris (no black athletic pants). If you are a returning 14er/MA singer and have a DCC gray sweatshirt and DCC approved colored Chuck Taylors, you do not need to purchase these again. ALL 14ers and MA will need to purchase a DCC T-shirt this fall (approximately $20), and singers NEW to 14ers/MAs will need to purchase a gray DCC sweatshirt (approximately $40) and Chuck Taylors (the names of the DCC approved colors for the Chucks will be sent to you late summer or early fall).

If the cost of any retreat, tour, an event, or uniform item is prohibitively expensive for you, please contact us. The Choir never wants cost to be a deciding factor in a child’s ability to participate in its programs.

I/we understand that singing with the DCC is a privilege and not a right. As such, DCC may choose to remove a singer from Thin Air for reasons they believe to be in the best interests of the entire group or the organization. Poor attendance, habitual sub-par effort, refusal to complete assigned make-up work, and/or conduct detrimental to the well-being of individuals in our community will not be tolerated and will be cause for removal from the program based solely on the discretion of Thin Air directors.

We have read, and agree to, the requirements for Fourteeners and Mountain Aires membership for the 2025-2026 season.
