Denver Children’s Choir Participation Expectations
- Attend all rehearsals and performances.
- Arrive on time. Being “on time” means being in place and ready to sing at the designated call time.
- Notify a designated staff member well in advance of any known absence or tardiness, or as soon as possible in the event of an unexpected absence or delay.
- Singers may not miss more than two rehearsals per semester.
- Treat fellow singers, families, staff, and venues with respect.
- Come prepared, having practiced assigned music and completed any required homework.
- Remain fully engaged during rehearsals.
- Cell phones may only be used during breaks, with permission, or in emergencies.
Dismissal may result from, but is not limited to:
- Bullying, harassment, hazing, abuse, or discriminatory language or behavior.
- Conduct detrimental to fellow singers, staff, DCC’s culture, or DCC’s reputation.
- Chronic tardiness.
- More than two absences in a semester.
- Arriving at DCC activities under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
- Possessing, using, or distributing alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, marijuana, vaping products, or drug paraphernalia at DCC activities.
- Possessing or using weapons, firearms, fireworks, explosives, or similar items at DCC activities.
- Participating in any illegal activity.
I understand that singing with DCC is a privilege and not a right. As such, I understand that DCC staff may choose to dismiss any singer from any program at any time for reasons believed to be in the best interests of the entire group or the organization.
We have read and agree to the participation expectations for DCC membership for the 2026-2027 season.
