The DCC and VOCO Endowment Fund
“Through every age, the DCC has attended to our son’s musical and psychosocial development. This intentional care for the whole child is what matters… the DCC is a force for good in the world.”
— DCC Parent and Board Member
VOCO is like a dream. It makes you feel like you can do anything.”
— VOCO Alumna
Since 1995, the Denver Children’s Choir has believed that every young person deserves a place where their voice is heard, valued, and celebrated. Today, together with Vocal Coalition Youth Choirs, that commitment reaches hundreds of young people across the Denver metro area. Our programs bring children and teens together across neighborhoods, cultures, identities, and economic circumstances to sing, create, learn, and belong.
We are more than choirs, because young people are more than singers.
Through DCC, young people build strong musical foundations and experience the discipline, joy, and connection of ensemble singing. Through VOCO, they discover additional pathways for expression through contemporary music, creativity, community, and experiences that support social and emotional well-being.
Across both programs, music becomes a vehicle for something larger: confidence, resilience, empathy, leadership, and belonging.
We believe these experiences should not depend on a family’s ZIP code, background, or ability to pay. By bringing programs into schools and neighborhoods throughout the Denver metro area, we work to ensure that every young person who wants to sing has the opportunity to participate. Young people learn that their individual voices matter—and that those voices become even more powerful when joined with others.
As Denver continues to grow and change, access to meaningful and authentic connection through the arts will become even more important. Our responsibility is not simply to preserve what has been built over the past three decades, but to ensure that future generations can continue to discover their voices.
A strong endowment will provide a permanent and reliable source of support for DCC and VOCO. Endowment income can help sustain the organizational foundation that makes our programs possible, allowing more annual contributions to directly support young people, teaching artists, tuition assistance, performances, and transformative experiences.
“The DCC matters not just because of what they do and say, but how they do it.”
— Dr. Art Jones, founder and artistic director of the Spirituals Project
That “how” matters: with excellence, joy, equity, inclusion, high expectations and deep care for the whole young person.
Please be part of our future.
Create a lasting legacy by including the Denver Children’s Choir in your will or estate plan, naming DCC as a beneficiary of a retirement account or IRA, or making a gift to our endowment.
The voices may change from generation to generation.
The opportunity for every young person to discover theirs should endure.
